Art in Bayview is coming up

Status

Wonderful news!
I have been selected to participate as a photographer in ‘Sights and Sounds of Bayview’, a series of multi media audio portraits of people in Bayview, a program sponsored by San Francisco Arts Commission produced by KALW 91.7FM.
I am so grateful and happy for this opportunity!

We are having a meeting today to plan for future photo shoots!

Also San Francisco Arts Commission states it will provide expanded access for Bayview/ Hunters Point residents to create and participate in vibrant cultural activities throughout the community.
A number of murals will begin appearing along 3rd Street, a ‘3rd on Third’ like a StreetSmaARTS; an arts walk modeled on Oakland’s Art Murmur featuring pop-up galleries and performances in restaurants and retail spaces will happen June 20th.

I’ll try to post some photos of appearing murals on 3rd Street and you should definitely take a Sunday stroll and check them out.

There are so many different things to study in life.

Today I photographed Paulo V Sultanum’s paintings. He has been studying bathrooms and toilets for a year.
Below are some interesting pieces of his work that he painted during this time.  If you have the chance view his colorful work in person.

He will be featured in a solo show at a museum in South Korea: Mr Toilet House.

Artis in residence at Artseed – Hunters Point Shipyard

Two talented young artists Joesph Aponte and Marlon Sagana Ingram are working in Artseed‘s studio at the Hunters Point Shipyard.
They are both working with students from the Bayview and Hunters Point district, teaching art and inspiring youngsters about the environmental issues we are living in.

If you have the chance you should definitely check out their work!  Below are some photos that I took from their installations during the Hunters Point Spring Open Studio, 2012.
Enjoy!
